FAQ's for Conrete Contractors
Is the Boman Kemp window system egress
compliant?
Yes. Certain size systems are compliant with section 310 of
the UBC, section 310 of CABO and section 310 of the IRC 2003.

Is the system hard to install?
No. The system is very labor friendly, and is designed to fit
into most concrete forming systems quickly and easily. The window
buck is poured directly into the wall and has mounting screws
installed at the factory that receive the area to mount directly
to the window buck so there is no need to drill the concrete
wall to attach the area well.
Which Boman Kemp product do you recommend
for egress?
There are several products that are egress compliant, however
the 4040 system is recommended due to dealer availability. Please
visit the System Builder for recommended sizing.
Does the Boman Kemp window system work
with my forms?
Yes. The window buck can be utilized in most brands of forms
and is also conducive to block wall and pre-cast wall systems.
The window buck is either nailed to wood forms or is held in
place by the wall ties on aluminum forms.
Where do I get Boman Kemp window systems?
Our window systems are available nation-wide through dealerships
throughout the country and are available in your state. Contact

What wall widths do your easy-bucks
come in?
We have many different size wall widths available from 7.25”
to 11”. Please see the Products section for a list of
these sizes.
Do you sell your product directly to
home builders and or home owners?
No. We have a distributor program set up for your convenience.

Does the Boman Kemp system have to be braced?
Yes. With the varying types of concrete and the different methods
used in pouring concrete, it is recommended that all window
bucks be braced. For most applications, the use of a piece of
2x4 wood can be used to brace the window buck.
Are the windows available in special
order sizes?
Yes. Boman Kemp offers a variety of standard sizes. Contact
your Sales Rep’s for additional sizes and availability.
Can you use Boman Kemp windows for above
grade applications?
Yes. You can use Boman Kemp windows in above grade applications.
Do I have to assemble your product?
No. The Boman Kemp window bucks come pre-assembled from your
local distributor and the area wells are ready to use from the
factory with a one piece design. No assembly is required, making for
quick and easy installation.
Does the grate lock?
No. Due to residential codes, the grate must be operational
without the use of a key or a tool.
Does the window lock?
Yes. The window has a standard locking mechanism that keeps
the operable sash from sliding open.
How is the ladder connected to the Easy-well?
The ladder is equipped with hooks that hang from the top of
the area well. There are also pre-drilled screw holes provided
for anchoring the ladder to the area well.
